Tech Up on Quantum Computing, AI Optimism - Tech Roundup

Dow Jones05-29

Shares of technology companies rose as optimism about quantum computing and artificial intelligence perpetuated upward momentum in the sector.

IBM shares rose after the tech giant pledged to invest more than $10 billion over five years in its quantum computing efforts.

The news comes a week after a $1 billion award from the federal government for quantum computing gave IBM shares a major jolt.

The pledge generated gains for quantum players such as D-Wave and Rigetti. Anthropic reached a $965 billion "post-money" valuation after it raised $65 billion in Series H funding.
