Starbucks CEO: Egg Bites Aren't Just for Breakfast -- WSJ

Dow Jones05-29

By Heather Haddon

Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol thinks the chain's Egg Bites deserve a sequel or two.

"Why can't that be a pizza bite? Why can't that be a steak bite?" Niccol said at an investor conference Thursday. "Why can't that have 20 grams of protein and some fiber, where it's highly relevant for the GLP users?"

Niccol is looking to increase Starbucks's afternoon business, a part of the day that rivals like Dutch Bros now command. To do it, the chain is adding new food options and cold drinks, and investing in seating and design to get people to linger.
