Labcorp (LH) said Friday it collaborated with the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology on a nationwide study for patients newly diagnosed with colorectal cancer.
The company said the trial will test ways to improve genetic testing for patients and their relatives, including whether proactive outreach by doctors increases family participation in cascade testing.
It will also assess how multigene panel testing affects treatment decisions, the company said.
Labcorp said it will serve as the exclusive genetic testing provider using its Invitae platform.
The study is sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and will run across US cancer centers, including sites in Puerto Rico, it added.
