American West Metals (ASX:AW1) confirmed the presence of high-grade critical metals at its West Desert project in Utah during sampling of historical drill core, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

Assays of previously unsampled historical drill core within and around the deposit yielded critical metal grades with peak values of 1,065 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 155 g/t indium, and 40 g/t gallium, the filing said.

Sampling also returned high base metal grades of up to 9.5% zinc, 2.3% copper, and 9.9% lead.
