Biogen (BIIB) and UCB said Thursday that additional trial results of dapirolizumab pegol demonstrated its potential to lower flare rates and maintain disease control in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune disease affecting multiple organs.

Results from a phase 3 study showed that dapirolizumab pegol plus standard of care was related to sustained disease control at lower glucocorticoid doses through week 48, compared with placebo, supporting reduced long-term steroid exposure.

In other findings presented at EULAR 2026, improvements in immunological markers and lowered flare rates were seen, supporting the potential of dapirolizumab pegol to address the burden of disease, the companies said.
