DesCartes Systems Group reported higher profit and rising revenue in the first quarter.
The Canadian logistics software company on Wednesday said its profit rose to $48.5 million, or 55 cents a share, from $36.2 million, or 41 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue increased to $193.6 million from $168.7 million a year prior, topping analyst estimates of $191.6 million, according to FactSet. The services segment, comprising most of the company's revenue, rose 15% to $180.5 million.
Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization rose 20% to $89.8 million. Analysts were expecting $87.1 million.
"The global trade landscape remains extremely challenging as supply chain participants look to keep up with increasingly dynamic conditions," Chief Executive Officer Edward Ryan said. "Our network provides the timely, accurate and reliable data needed to fuel both AI-powered solutions and existing systems of record that are deeply embedded in logistics operations."
