Verastem (VSTM) said Wednesday the FDA granted Fast Track designation to its experimental drug VS-7375 for patients with KRAS G12D-mutated advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.

The company is evaluating the oral therapy in its ongoing TARGET-D 101 study, with early data expected later this year.

Verastem has also launched the registration-directed Phase 2 TARGET-D 202 trial in previously treated lung cancer patients.

VS-7375 had previously received FDA Fast Track designation for KRAS G12D-mutated pancreatic cancer.
