RS Group's Recovery Might Take Longer Than Expected -- Market Talk

Dow Jones06-03

0752 GMT - RS Group's operational turnaround and demand recovery might take longer than investors had anticipated, Berenberg analysts say in a note. The industrial and electronics products distributor faces a sluggish macroeconomic background, with European industrial sectors experiencing continuing volume pressure, the analysts say. Although it has made significant strides in digital commerce platforms and integrations, the analysts point to structural headwinds. Rising operational costs and competitive shifts to digital channels are also pressuring legacy distribution margins, Berenberg says. Still, the performance momentum has built over the second half across all regions with sequentially improved results in the fourth quarter, Berenberg says. Shares are down 0.3% at 665.50 pence.
