Medtronic (MDT) is making investments in two privately held intracardiac echocardiography catheter companies to support the expansion of its cardiac ablation portfolio, the company said Wednesday.
Financial details of these investments were not disclosed.
The investments include Beluga Medical, a US premarket ICE developer, and CardioACC, an early commercial-stage China-based company, with ICE catheters providing real-time imaging during electrophysiology procedures and expected to be integrated into Medtronic's Affera system, the company added.
Medtronic said the investments support its cardiac ablation business and Affera ecosystem, aimed at improving efficiency and outcomes in treating atrial fibrillation.
