President Donald Trump signed an executive order focused on artificial intelligence innovation and security, the White House said on Tuesday.
The order directs multiple agencies to strengthen cyber defenses across national security systems, the Department of War, and civilian federal systems. It also calls for expanding AI-enabled cybersecurity tools, according to the statement.
The goal is to improve access to these tools for critical infrastructure operators such as hospitals and utilities, and establish an AI cybersecurity clearinghouse to coordinate vulnerability detection and patching across government and industry, it said, adding that the order requires most of these actions to be implemented in the next 30 to 60 days.
