World Cup Will Boost Luxury Hotel Chains More than Economy -- Market Talk
Dow Jones06-03
1332 ET - Hotel companies that specialize in the luxury segment are going to get a bigger boost from this summer's World Cup than the economy chains, Deutsche Bank analysts say in a research note. Hyatt, Hilton and Marriott should outperform given their elevated chain scale exposure, the analysts say. They look to the 2023 Super Bowl in Arizona and 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans as a proxy. Revenue per available room at luxury lines in those areas were up 212% and 416% respectively, while economy chains saw respective 66% and 127% boosts, the analysts say. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
