Viavi Solutions (VIAV) launched microPNT GDO-1000, a tiny GNSS-disciplined oscillator designed for precise timing in space- and power-constrained systems, the company said on Monday.
The company said the device is about the size of a postage stamp, weighs under 4 grams, and is designed for use in defense platforms, drones, data centers, and communications equipment.
Viavi said it delivers precise timing with 24-hour holdover accuracy, uses dual-frequency GNSS signals, and consumes about 0.5 watts of power.
It also uses AI-based software to keep timing stable under changing conditions like movement and vibration, it added.
Viavi said the module fits into standard M.2 slots, making it easy to integrate into existing hardware.
