Amazon Dethrones Walmart as Largest Fortune 500 Company by Revenue -- Market Talk

0832 ET - Amazon has overtaken Walmart as the biggest company by revenue, according to the new Fortune 500 ranking. In Fortune's 72nd year of publishing the list of 500 biggest U.S. companies, Walmart lost its top spot for the first time in 13 years. Amazon surpassed $700 billion in revenue in 2025, a 12% leap year-over-year. While Walmart fell to number 2, Alphabet moved up two spots to number 5 on the Fortune 500 and repeated as "most profitable company." Alphabet's $132 billion earnings figure is a record for a Fortune 500 company. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
