Electrolux Rights Issue Marks a Step in Its Major Restructure -- Market Talk

Dow Jones06-01

0930 GMT - Electrolux's rights issue is a step in the group's major restructuring, AlphaValue analyst Helene Coumes writes. Beyond the strengthening of the balance sheet, the capital increase supports a broader strategic transformation, including efficiency improvements and a structural repositioning in North America through the partnership with Midea, Coumes adds. Approximately half of the proceeds are allocated to debt reduction, with the remainder supporting the strategic partnership with Midea in refrigeration and laundry in North America, as well as efficiency measures and growth initiatives. AlphaValue says it is yet to incorporate the potential impact of the North American transformation and other measures in its estimates. It lowers its target price to 43.2 Swedish kronor from 50.2 kronor and keeps at buy. Shares fall 0.2% to 29.04 kronor. (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
