Immunocore (IMCR) said Sunday its updated phase 1/2 study data showed its investigational therapy, brenetafusp, achieved a median overall survival of 14.3 months in heavily pretreated patients with advanced melanoma.
The company said the study showed an overall response rate of 12% and a disease control rate of 52%.
Overall survival rates were 87% at six months and 57% at 12 months, the company said.
The drugmaker said patients receiving the 160mcg dose showed higher rates of clinical benefit, including overall survival, disease control, response rates and tumor reduction, compared with those treated with the 40mcg dose, supporting selection of the higher dose for the ongoing phase 3 trial of brenetafusp plus nivolumab in first-line advanced melanoma.
Among patients with primary PD-1 resistance, median overall survival was 14.7 months, comparable to the broader study population, the company said.
It added that a separate cohort of 10 patients treated with brenetafusp plus pembrolizumab, response and disease control rates were numerically higher than with brenetafusp alone, including in patients with primary PD-1 resistance.
