1021 ET - Data center construction could translate to growth in the consumer-facing apparel industry, UBS analysts say. The large-scale construction projects bring jobs and economic stimulus to regions, which the analysts think could boost consumer spending in surrounding areas. The analysts conducted a study of retail stores located within a 10-mile radius of data center construction happening over the next two years, and found Abercrombie & Fitch, Urban Outfitters, Aritzia, Macy's and Steve Madden have the most exposure to the potential economic boost.
