Dow Jones06-02 10:16

0216 GMT - Samsung Electronics is expected to benefit from higher semiconductor prices through 2028 amid a global undersupply of DRAM and NAND, the two main types of memory chips, Goldman Sachs analysts say. They raise their annual operating profit forecasts for the world's top memory-chip maker by 5.3% to 374 trillion won in 2026, 21% to 530 trillion won in 2027 and 23% to 610 trillion won in 2028. They forecast "sustained and solid long-term growth" in memory demand, driven by artificial intelligence. They expect global demand for DRAM and NAND products to grow 28% and 23%, respectively, this year, outpacing supply growth of 23% and 19%, respectively. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
