Dow Jones13:19

0519 GMT - Macquarie affirms its baseline expectation for the Federal Reserve's rate path following Friday's robust employment report, says David Doyle, head of economics. "As we have been highlighting for some time, we see the next move as a hike with our baseline timing being in 1Q27," he says. Risks to this have become skewed to an earlier hiking, with markets now discounting a hike in the fourth quarter of 2026, he says. "FOMC rhetoric is likely to continue to shift away from a cutting bias and towards a hiking bias in coming weeks." (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
