Blue-Chip Singapore REITs Could Appeal Amid Geopolitical Uncertainty -- Market Talk

Dow Jones06-08

0849 GMT - Blue-chip Singapore real-estate investment trusts with attractive yields and upward price catalysts continue to appeal in times of heightened geopolitical uncertainty, says UOB Kay Hian's Jonathan Koh in a note. Singapore REITs have stable cash flows due to the long tenure of their leases, which range from three to 10 years, providing income stability even during uncertain times, the analyst says. The sector has also largely lagged the broader market recovery and is unlikely to lead any declines should the wider market fall, he says. Meanwhile, Singapore's safe-haven status should draw inflows, keep local interest rates depressed and boost the Singapore REIT sector's yield spread, Koh says. UOB KH's sector picks include CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust and Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust.(megan.cheah@wsj.com)
