Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency, briefly dipped below $60,000 before staging a slight recovery.

The largest cryptocurrency traded as low as $59,775 around midday Friday, its lowest intraday level since October, 2024.

The rapid declines came after Strategy, the bitcoin accumulation firm founded by Michael Saylor, said it unloaded a portion of its massive holdings earlier this week. Shares of Strategy slumped about 9% Friday.

Other crypto stocks also fell. Shares of crypto exchange Coinbase Global were also down about 9%, while stablecoin company Circle Internet Group dropped more than 10%.
