York Space Systems (YSS) said Friday it has begun the initial shipment of more than 20 spacecraft from its second production lot of Tranche 1 Transport Layer spacecraft to the launch site for a planned summer launch on a dedicated Falcon 9 mission.

The company said the satellites are designed to provide tactical communications support for US and allied warfighters.

Shares of the company were up 1% in recent Friday trading.
