Microsoft said Reid Hoffman won't stand for re-election on its board.

Hoffman, who co-founded LinkedIn, will step down after the annual shareholder meeting, Microsoft said in a Friday filing.

He will continue to serve as a director at the software company until that time. His decision not to stand for reelection isn't the result of a disagreement with the company, Microsoft said.

Hoffman has served on Microsoft's board since 2017, shortly after Microsoft closed its acquisition of LinkedIn.

Hoffman is also a venture capitalist in the technology world and was an early backer of OpenAI. He resigned from OpenAI's board in 2023, saying he wanted to avoid conflicts of interest.
