Alcoholic beverages manufacturer United Spirits (NSE:MCDOWELL-N, BOM:532432) has decided to cease factory operations at its Malkajgiri manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, India, according to a Thursday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.

The move is part of an agility program approved by the company's board in 2023, under which the company intends to transfer the excise license issued by the Telangana Prohibition & Excise Department to another party.

Following this, the factory operations at the unit will cease by Aug. 31.

During the financial year 2025-26, the unit contributed around 5.99 billion Indian rupees or 2% of the company's revenue from operations.
