Marvell Technology and Flex will be added to the S&P 500 index, replacing Pool and Campbell's, the soup company, prior to the opening of trading on June 22, accordin g to S&P Dow Jones Indices.
The moves are being made in conjunction with the quarterly rebalancing of the index.
Pool and Campbell will be joining the S&P SmallCap 600 index. Before its deletion, Campbell's had one of the smallest market values in the S&P 500, making it vulnerable to deletion.
Marvell and Flex are technology companies and will add to the already outsize weighting of tech in the S&P 500.
Marvell was famously tagged as the next $1 trillion company by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang earlier this week. The stock was up 6.2% in after hours trading Friday after falling 17% during regular trading hours.
