AIM ImmunoTech (AIM) said Monday that its metastatic pancreatic cancer drug Ampligen has shown "positive progress" in an ongoing phase 2 study.

According to the company, the study is showing overall median survival of 34.8 months, compared with 12.5 months for historical controls in one group of study patients with a specific immune marker.

The specific indication for the trial is patients with stable disease after Folfirinox standard of care. The company said it remains on track for a planned December evaluation of the 25-patient trial's primary endpoint of clinical benefit rate at six months.

Shares of AIM rose more than 26% in recent premarket trading Monday.
