BOE Likely to Keep Interest Rates on Hold -- Market Talk
Dow Jones06-08
1312 GMT - The Bank of England is likely to keep interest rates unchanged at 3.75% in the coming months, research analysts at Danske Bank say in a note. Recently released U.K. data signals economic weakness, lowering the possibility of the BOE raising interest rates, the analysts say. However, inflation concerns could cause some of the monetary policy committee members to vote in favor of raising interest rates, they say. Investors fully price in one quarter-point BOE rate rise in 2026, and an 80% probability of a second rate hike by year-end, LSEG data show. (miriam.mukuru@wsj.com)
