The US government is mulling taking a financial stake in artificial intelligence firms, with President Donald Trump planning a meeting with executives next week to discuss a potential partnership, news outlets reported Friday, citing Trump when he spoke with the press aboard Air Force One.

Trump did not mention any specific companies, BBC reported.

US companies working on AI include Alphabet's (GOOGL, GOOG) Google, Microsoft (MSFT), Meta Platforms (META), OpenAI, SpaceX and Anthropic.
