Viking's Business Model Seems Unsinkable -- Market Talk

Dow Jones06-05

0926 ET - Viking continues to be resilient, as the cruise line's results and outlook over the past several years have bucked industry trends, Melius Research analysts say in a note. "At times it seemed the company was operating in a different market altogether," they write, attributing that to the niche nature of Viking's business, with fewer annual passengers, largely of an older demographic, that have the means to continue traveling despite macroeconomic noise. "The result has been compounding returns despite being asset heavy, while leading the industry in growth and getting price on top of it," the analysts write. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
