AI Still Lacks Empathy, Yum China CEO Says -- Market Talk
Dow Jones06-10
1429 GMT - AI hasn't developed the empathy needed to face staffing challenges, Yum China Chief Executive Joey Wat says during a panel discussion at the WSJ Leadership Institute CEO Summit. "Whenever it comes to data, AI is really, really good, but when it comes to staff, you need to talk to the staff," she says. A manager can now oversee 20 stores thanks to AI, which represents a significant improvement, she notes. However, managing staff requires human empathy, she adds. While AI can work at scale, the human value is missing, she says. ( najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
