Sanofi Stops Late-Stage Trial of Autoimmune Disease Therapy After Interim Review

MT Newswires Live06-10

Sanofi (SNY) said Wednesday that it will discontinue a phase 3 trial of its experimental drug riliprubart in patients with a type of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy after an interim review found the study was unlikely to provide sufficient efficacy.

The company said it will review the future of its other ongoing riliprubart studies, including a trial involving patients with the same condition who are being treated with intravenous immunoglobulin.

Sanofi said it will work with investigators to wind down the study and ensure a smooth transition of care for enrolled patients.

The company also plans to analyze the trial data to help guide future research, it added.

Sanofi said the decision to discontinue the study is not expected to have a significant financial impact and does not affect its 2026 financial guidance.
