STOCKHOLM -- Electrolux named Diego Perrone as chief strategy officer, replacing Vincent Rotger, who left the role earlier this year.
Perrone will be responsible for business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and will report to Chief Executive Yannick Fierling.
He was most recently managing director for U.K. and Ireland at Haier Smart Home, and has previously headed the Europe cooling business unit, also at Haier. Prior to his time at Haier, Perrone held a number of key roles at Whirlpool EMEA, and has also worked as a management consultant for Kearney.
The appointment is effective from July 8.
Rotger now heads the Swedish appliance company's wellbeing and small domestic appliances product line.
Electrolux recently announced a 9 billion Swedish kronor ($953.2 million) rights issue and entered into agreements with China's Midea Group to support its performance in North America.
It has been grappling with subdued consumer demand and competition from lower-priced rivals, and is implementing broad cost-efficiency measures that include job cuts and optimizing its manufacturing footprint, among other things.
