Perrigo Chief Executive Patrick Lockwood-Taylor has resigned after the board found his personal conduct had violated company code.

The maker of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals said Monday that Lockwood-Taylor, also the company's president, has stepped down from the board as well. Albert Manzone, one of Perrigo's directors, has taken over as interim president and CEO.

The board said it had determined that certain personal conduct of Lockwood-Taylor wasn't consistent with Perrigo's code of conduct or core values. They didn't provide details on the conduct, saying only that it didn't involve the company's operations or financials.

"Perrigo's core values are foundational to how we operate, and the board expects all colleagues -- especially our senior leaders -- to uphold those standards at all times," Chair Orlando Ashford said.

Perrigo reaffirmed the full-year outlook it provided back in May.
