Xeris Biopharma (XERS) said late Thursday the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued a notice of allowance to US patent application No. 17/151,405, entitled "Compositions and Methods of Use" for its KEVEYIS product.

Following this issuance, the company will submit the patent to the US Food and Drug Administration for listing in the FDA's publication "Approved Drug Products with Therapeutic Equivalence Evaluations", commonly known as the Orange Book, the company said.

The new patent will provide intellectual property protection for KEVEYIS through 2039, the company added.

KEVEYIS is an FDA-approved treatment for primary periodic paralysis.
