BOE Could Signal Willingness to Eventually Raise Rates at Next Meeting -- Market Talk
Dow Jones06-11 18:51
1051 GMT - The Bank of England members could indicate their willingness to increase interest rates at future meetings if necessary during the rate decision on June 18, Oxford Economics' Edward Allenby says in a note. Markets widely expect the BOE to keep interest rates on hold at 3.75% at the meeting. "We think those advocating for a hold at next week's meeting will signal that they remain open to tightening policy later this year should energy prices remain high for a prolonged period."
