Biocon to Buy 37.8% Stake in Renewable Energy Firm Ampin C&I Power Twelve

Indian pharmaceutical company Biocon (NSE:BIOCON, BOM:532523) has agreed to acquire a 37.8% stake in renewable energy company Ampin C&I Power Twelve for 54.8 million Indian rupees, according to a Wednesday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.

Biocon will subscribe to around 5.5 million equity shares of AMPIN at a face value of 10 rupees each, with allotment expected in due course.

Following subsequent capital infusions by other entities into the project, Biocon's shareholding will be diluted to 15.9%.

AMPIN is a special-purpose vehicle established to generate renewable energy. It is currently setting up a 27.12 MW (DC) solar power plant in Karnataka, India.
