Thailand Tourism Recovery Appears to Be Gaining Traction -- Market Talk

Dow Jones06-10

0411 GMT - Thailand's tourism recovery appears to be gaining traction, partly driven by more arrivals from key short-haul markets, DBS Group Research analysts say in a report. China accounted for the highest volume of tourists for short-haul markets in the first five months of the year, with around 2.3 million arrivals, up 18.4% on year. This was followed by Malaysia, India, South Korea and Taiwan, they note. DBS remains positive on Thailand's long-term tourism outlook and continues to favor Central Plaza Hotel and Minor International, which are well-positioned to gain from the tourism recovery.(amanda.lee@wsj.com)
