1303 ET - Casey's General Stores says its new wings offering could ultimately rival the size of its pizza business in the long term. The convenience store chain says it's seeing some customers come in to order just its wings, and then come back to order its prepared foods more frequently, offering a promising sign that they see wings as a standalone or additional purchase rather than a substitute to what they'd typically order. "Everything we're seeing right now would suggest that this can be an incremental occasion, that it's good enough to stand on its own," Chief Executive Darren Rebelez says during a call with analysts. Still, he cautions that it took 40 years to get Casey's pizza business to where it is today. "It's going to take us some time to continue to build our credibility" in wings, he says.(kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
