Europe's Big Pharma Could Win Investors' Favor With Busy End of Year -- Market Talk

Dow Jones06-10

1434 GMT - Big European pharmaceutical companies have a busy second half of the year, with several key events that could help them build positive outlooks and win investors' favor, Bank of America analysts say in a note. Novartis and AstraZeneca have the busiest schedules in terms of results of clinical studies, the analysts say. At GSK and Sanofi, recently appointed CEOs are expected to provide updates on their plans alongside second-quarter earnings, they add. For Novo Nordisk, the main focus remains on prescription trends for its obesity and diabetes products, BofA says. Roche faces a quieter second half, but the launch of its new breast-cancer drug giredestrant will be key, the analysts write. The Stoxx Europe 600 Health Care index is up 0.5%.
