Merck, Gilead Discontinue Phase 3 Trial of Trodelvy, Keytruda to Treat Lung Cancer

MT Newswires Live04:48

Merck (MRK) and Gilead Sciences (GILD) said Monday they are discontinuing a phase 3 trial assessing Gilead's Trodelvy combined with Merck's Keytruda compared to monotreatment with Keytruda in some people with non-small cell lung cancer, whose tumors expressed PD-L1.

The decision was based on a recommendation from a Data Monitoring Committee after review of results from a final analysis of progression-free survival and an interim analysis of overall survival, the companies said.

A numerical improvement in progression-free survival was seen, but it did not achieve statistical significance, the companies said, adding that the probability of reaching statistically significant overall survival is unlikely at a final analysis.
