Teleflex Says Study Shows No New Cardiac Events at 4 Years for Freesolve Scaffold

Teleflex (TFX) said four-year follow-up data from its BIOMAG-I study continued to show a favorable long-term safety profile for its Freesolve resorbable magnesium scaffold, the company said Tuesday.

The study of 116 patients across Europe reported no cardiac death, target-vessel MI, or scaffold thrombosis through four years, with a 3.5% target lesion failure rate, the company added.

Teleflex said the findings support ongoing trials and strengthen the case for the resorbable scaffold as an alternative to drug-eluting stents.
