Top cryptocurrencies fell Tuesday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) dropping below the $62,000 level.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, fell almost 2.6% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 fell 1.5%, the S&P 500 decreased 0.5%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.1%.
Bitcoin dropped 2.3% to $61,963, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume rose 1% to $39.02 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, fell 1.8% to $1,655.
XRP (XRP-USD) fell 3.1%, BNB (BNB-USD) declined 2%, and Solana (SOL-USD) shed 3%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) dropped 2.1%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) lost 2%.
The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.524% at 3 p.m. ET Tuesday, down from 4.550% Monday, while the five-year yield fell to 4.251% from 4.281%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry fell 2.5% in the past 24 hours to $2.13 trillion, with trading volume declining 3.5% to $91.66 billion.
