Pilbara Gold (ASX:PGL) intercepted zones of "strong" veining and alteration in four drill holes at the Gilt Dragon prospect, within its Mt York project in Western Australia, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The company has completed 5,680 meters of diamond drilling to date at Mt York Main Hill, Main Hill Extension, Gossan Hill and Gilt Dragon, with initial results expected in July, the filing said.

Three diamond drill rigs are currently drilling double-shift as growth drilling ramps up, with two additional reverse circulation rigs expected this month, per the filing.

Shares rose nearly 4% in midday trade Tuesday.
