Novonix (ASX:NVX) delivered a mass production qualification C-sample of synthetic graphite anode active material to Panasonic Energy, marking a key milestone toward potential commercial supply, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
The company said this marks the first known delivery in North America of a synthetic graphite C-sample, per the filing.
Internal testing shows the material complies with Panasonic's required specifications, but formal validation has yet to be completed, the filing said.
The company expects mass production for Panasonic to begin in the second half of 2027, subject to successful qualification by Panasonic and its customers, reaffirming prior guidance, the filing added.
The company's shares rose past 15% in recent Thursday trade.
