Tianqi Lithium (HKG:9696, SHE:002466) said a localized fire occurred at Chemical-Grade Lithium Concentrate Plant No. 3 in Australia operated by its subsidiary Talison Lithium during a maintenance shutdown, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.
The company said the fire was promptly extinguished and all personnel were safely evacuated, with no injuries reported.
Certain equipment was damaged, while major equipment and production lines were unaffected.
Tianqi said the incident may affect the ramp-up of Plant No. 3, which began commissioning in December 2025 and produced its first batch of qualified chemical-grade lithium concentrate in January.
The extent of the impact is still being assessed, the filing added.
