1446 ET - Apple laid out a number of AI-related software announcements at its Worldwide Developers Conference that are additive to the user experience, but not a material driver of iPhone demand, UBS analysts say in a research note. They believe Apple's AI journey is to be iterative over the next couple of years, with the latest announcements serving as a solid foundation for the edge AI platform the company is building. Based on initial functionality, investors will likely be underwhelmed with the offerings in a consumer market this competitive, the analysts say. Apple falls 3.4%. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
