MT Newswires Live00:59

Sealsq (LAES) said Friday it made progress in developing the Quantum Spatial Orbital Cloud, an orbital platform designed to deliver post-quantum-secure services from space.

The company said the first satellite dedicated to the QSOC architecture is scheduled for launch on a SpaceX mission in Q4, marking the start of a multi-year deployment plan expected to scale to up to 100 satellites by 2033.

Sealsq said the initiative builds on satellite deployments since 2023, during which 21 partner-operated satellites launched via SpaceX were used to test and validate space-based security technologies. It added that WISeKey (WKEY) subsidiaries are supporting the project's infrastructure layer, including satellite operations and ground segment capabilities.

At full operational capability in 2033, the constellation is expected to provide global coverage with enterprise-grade service availability, according to the company.
