Market Chatter: Woman Convicted of Defrauding JPMorgan Chase Seeks Trump Pardon

MT Newswires Live06-15

Businesswoman Charlie Javice has been lobbying the Trump administration for a pardon after being convicted of defrauding JPMorgan Chase (JPM) when she sold her company Frank for $175 million, The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.

After Javice sold Frank to JPMorgan in 2021, the investment bank found that she had allegedly faked a list of 4 million customers for college application financial aid assistance services, the report said.

She has been sentenced to seven years in prison but has appealed the verdict, the report said.

JPMorgan did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
