Fortuna Mining (FSM) said Monday it obtained a decree from Senegalese environmental authorities validating the impact evaluation for its Diamba Sud gold mine.
The certification confirms the project adheres to applicable regulations and maintains support from local groups, the company said.
The regulatory approval advances the operation toward securing a final extraction permit following an application submitted to energy officials in February, Fortuna said.
Shares of the company were up 6% in premarket activity.
