Agnico Eagle Shares Rise on Completion of Aurion Deal

Shares of Agnico Eagle Mines climbed after the company completed its arrangement to buy Aurion Resources, a Canadian gold exploration company, for 2.60 Canadian dollars ($1.86) a share in cash.

The stock was recently up 6.9% at $173.78. It's on pace for its biggest one-day gain since November 2022 and is set for its highest close since June 4.

Aurion said its shares will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange, and it will apply to cease to be a reporting issuer in Canada following the cash acquisition.
