Amazon (AMZN) and Alphabet-backed (GOOG, GOOGL) Anthropic Chief Executive Dario Amodei urged G7 leaders to maintain coordinated AI policies, the Financial Times reported Wednesday, citing unnamed people familiar with the lunch session discussions.
The Anthropic boss said the countries should unite over AI, and was backed by Sam Altman, chief executive of Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI, the report said.
French President Emmanuel Macron, host of the luncheon, and other world leaders said a decision by the US to prevent exports of the latest Anthropic models had focused attention on the need to build reliable AI supply chains, the report said.
Anthropic and OpenAI did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
